How progression works
- Pick Pirates or Marines at the start. It mostly affects who you can fight in PvP.
- Take quests from NPCs on each island, defeat the enemies, return for EXP and Beli, and move to the next island once you out-level it.
- The world is split into the First, Second and Third Sea. You unlock the next sea by reaching the level requirement and completing its quest.
Where to put stat points
You get points every level for Melee, Defense, Sword, Gun and Blox Fruit.
- Choose one main damage stat (usually Blox Fruit or Sword) and put most points there.
- Add points to Defense and Melee so you survive and have more energy.
- Don't spread points evenly. A stat reset code (see codes) can fix early mistakes.
Best fruits for beginners
Fruit strength changes with updates, but these picks are commonly recommended at the time of writing:
| Use | Fruits players often recommend |
|---|---|
| Grinding levels | Buddha, Light, Magma |
| Late-game | Dragon |
| PvP | Dough, Tiger, Dragon, Control, Kitsune |
| Travel and utility | Portal |
Buddha is the classic grinding fruit because its transformation makes you huge and hits wide. Light is fast and great for moving between islands early.
Fighting styles and swords
Even with a fruit, learn a fighting style from the trainers. Many players use a fighting style for combos and a fruit for damage. Swords drop from bosses and can be bought from NPCs.
Beginner tips
- Always quest at the island that matches your level. Fighting enemies far below you gives little EXP.
- Use 2x EXP codes during long sessions.
- Store a good fruit instead of eating it straight away if you might want a better one later.
- Team up with friends for bosses and raids.
