How combat works
- M1s are your basic attacks. A chain of M1s is the backbone of almost every combo.
- Each character has a set of special moves on the number keys, each with its own cooldown.
- Landing hits fills your awakening bar. When it's full, you can activate a stronger mode with new moves.
- Blocking cuts damage, but block for too long and it breaks.
Which character to start with
The Honored One (based on Gojo) is a common first pick because his moves are easy to land and good at keeping distance. Try a few characters in training before settling, since the controls differ quite a bit.
Core skills to practice
- M1 timing: don't spam. Finish the M1 string, then follow with a special move while the enemy is stunned.
- Dash: use it to close the gap or escape, not randomly. It has a cooldown.
- Block at the right moment: block when you see a big move coming, then punish when it ends.
- Ragdoll cancel: when you get knocked down, learn your character's escape option so you aren't comboed forever.
- Save your awakening for when you can actually land hits, not when you're about to be combo'd.
Beginner tips
- Fight one player at a time. Big brawls get you knocked out quickly.
- Watch enemy cooldowns. Attack right after they use a big move.
- Use training or a quiet server to learn each move's range.
- Redeem codes for free cash and emotes.
